Morgan the Athlete

In the spring Morgan tried his hand at baseball. Even though it appeared to me, that all he did in the field was build grass forts for the ants, he claims to have enjoyed his baseball experience and looks forward to playing again next spring.

Keeping his eye on the ball, Morgan was a pretty good hitter.

Never to be left behind, Spikey enjoyed the baseball season also.

Morgan maintained his interest in soccer. During the spring he attended soccer camp and then played quite a bit in London during the summer.

Dominating with his speed and ball control

He improved tremendously which could be seen this fall when he scored half his team's goals for the season. (Unfortunately only one). Nevertheless, the team was very enthusiastic and enjoyed the season.

Morgan the Scholar

Life was not all fun and games for Morgan. In the spring of 1998, Morgan was an honorable mention in a poetry contest at a local bookstore. In the contest there were 4 age categories and a winner and 5 honorable mentions in each category. There were over 800 contestants in all. Morgan entered his Numbers poem, which he wrote in second grade with Mrs. Doorneweerd.

NUMBERS
by
Morgan

Numbers, numbers I would like to go to infinity with you.
Prime Numbers are very interesting and so are Fibonaccis.
Numbers, I like adding and subtracting you.
Numbers, I have a question for you,
is zero an even or odd number?
Numbers I love you.
