Morgan's Holiday Message:
This year We have a new addition to the family. Rhyana, Spike as we like to call her, arrived March 5th, two weeks early in only 3 hours and 4 pushes. She is always happy and inquisitive. She is physically very strong and even learned to crawl at 5 months so she has been a handful. She has won all our hearts with her big smile. She has especially won the heart of her big brother, Morgan, who completely adores her and can't get enough of her. He says she is so cute he can't stand it. He has been the perfect brother helping look after her and playing with her when mom is busy. He is even keeping a journal about what happens to her.
Morgan has matured greatly this year. He is now in second grade and reads and writes very well. Besides keeping a journal for his sister he writes stories and even wrote and read a poem at his school's Poetry Reading.
Of course we didn't let the new baby slow us down. We went to London again this summer. Spikey is one of our youngest citizens with her own passport. London was wonderful as usual. Spike went into the office with us every day. Instead of doing my normal computer support activities I helped Richard finish various projects. Morgan attended several summer and sport camps. It turns out that his longest lasting friend, Jacob, is in London. So he feels rooted and enjoys the summer, especially his Tandori chicken. We all had a relaxing summer.
Rhyana has already begun daycare, going only 3 days per week. She loves all the activities and stimulation she gets at the center. I think she is bored with me on her off days. Starting this summer, in London, she will start going full time.
I have been keeping myself busy at the homeless shelter, as usual. I also have been learning a great deal about HTML and web publishing. I designed a web site for one of Richard's organizations, Harvard Trade Union Program. Check out the site to see my serious work.
Richard, as usual continues to travel, write, teach and spend time with the family. We try to take long walks on the weekend and explore new parts of the city.
Our sad news for this year, is that Richard's father passed away in November after a long battle with cancer. He was 82 years old and had been married to Richard's mom for 57 years. The family had a moving service for him. He will be missed.
This year, unfortunately we were unable to get a complete family photo for our holiday greeting. It turns out that most of our friends and family are connected to the web, so we decided to do this cyber greeting instead. As soon as I get the family together, we will send out the traditional greeting also. In the mean time, enjoy the new technology.
We hope that you and your family have a wonderful and safe holiday season.
Richard, Alida, Morgan and Rhyana
