LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Taxi fares from Boston's Logan Airport to Cambridge range from $30.00 to $40.00. The subway is $1.25 (a token is required). Local bus fare is 90 cents.

HOUSING

The Bureau has secured a discounted rate at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, 5 Cambridge Parkway, Cambridge, MA, 02138, 617-491-3600. The NBER Summer Institute rate is $169.00 per night single or double occupancy plus 12.45% tax. The NBER Conference Department will make housing arrangements as requested on the reply form.

MEALS

The Bureau provides breakfast and lunch during the workshops, as well as one group dinner per week for all Summer Institute participants. For your information, the average lunch in the Cambridge/Boston area costs between $10.00 and $15.00. An average dinner costs between $20.00 to $25.00 (without alcoholic beverage).

OFFICE ASSIGNMENTS

There will be no formally assigned offices this year. As in past years, all participants will have access to the NBER's computer room at the Royal Sonesta Hotel where a number of computers with printers and email capabilities are available 24 hours a day. Please also note that the sleeping rooms at the Royal Sonesta Hotel are now equipped with dataport lines.
